The BEST Picture Hangers

In an effort to get our house to feel more put together, we finally bit the bullet and started hanging art on the walls! It’s amazing what happens when you get some interest on the walls (and get those frames off the floor) but it always takes me FOREVER to just make the time and just do it. Anyone else?

I get nervous about things falling because they aren’t secure enough, but my Mom taught me about these picture hangers and I forgot how great they are! Last night was the first time Matt had used them, and he was very pleasantly surprised with how simple they were to use and how sturdy they felt. We even adjusted some after we put them up and it was no problem to take it out and move it to a slightly different location.

So, this week’s LoveList is these awesome hook picture hangers. They only leave a tiny hole (like using a nail) but they feel much more sturdy because of their angle into the wall and the metal hook balancing the weight. They come in lots of different capacities, but I used the 30 lb for my smaller pieces and the 100 lb ones for my big pieces and mirrors. This is definitely overkill but now i feel totally confident that my favorite pieces aren’t going anywhere. So far, I have only used them for art, but I would imagine they would work in other applications, depending on what you are hanging and if you are trying to cover the hook.

I bought mine at Home Depot (link), but you can get them at any hardware store, target (link), or on amazon (link)  if you have a couple days before you need them.

I know there are lots of other picture hanging tricks– who knows, maybe that will be a post in the future! But for now, go get that frame you’ve been meaning to hang and get it done!
